Track the Sky Polaris Route
As noted in a previous post, the Sky Polaris RV-8 has equipped with it a flight data recorder similar to what an airliner aircraft carries. This “Black Box” records all kinds of data about the flight. Heading, altitude, speed, position, etc. This data is recorded as an IGC file and the Sky Polaris project is making these files available for you to download and recreate the track that Captain Michel Gordillo has flown along his previous legs around the world.
The IGC file page is now available for you to use to download the tracking files and software. Please click on the menu item “Planned Route|IGS Files” above or go to the IGC files page directly. Have fun! Please email [email protected] if you have questions about using IGC files.
Thank you for following the Sky Polaris Project! If you have not already donated to this important project, please consider doing so.
