Destination – The South Pole
The second half of the Sky Polaris project has officially begun!
At 15:51 UTC Michel departed Madrid on the first take of of many he will make in the next months. Part two of the Sky Polaris project is now officially underway! The first destination is is Minorca, one of Spain’s Balearic islands in the Mediterranean Sea. After that Michel is headed to Malta. Hopefully after Michel has landed and gotten to a internet access, he will make a post to let us know how the first leg has gone.
The actual route will undoubtedly change from the proposed route due to weather, fuel availability, and permission to enter the dozens of countries he will cross. If you remember from the first part of the flight, Michel was denied entry to the USA from Mexico based only on the illegal activities of one customs officer on the Mexican border. We are hoping that he will be treated better by all the officials he meets on this trip!
Track Michel’s progress in real time by clicking on the Flight Tracking menu item above. Soon we will move the Spidertracks tracking map to the home page.
