Sao Paulo, Brazil
After departing Iguazu Falls, Argentina on 11/26/2016, Michel made a very short hop across the border to Iguazu Falls, Brazil. This was required as the aircraft and Captain Gordillo were required to be cleared into the country of Brazil. Fortunately there were no problems with entry and he was then on his way to land at Campo do Amarais airport, near Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Michel will spend 3 days visiting with Carlos Edo, a famous Brazillian pilot who performs air circus shows using a T-6 (and also owns one).
From Sao Paulo, the Sky Polaris project will fly to Brasillia, and visit another famous pilot, Gerard Moss. Mr. Moss is another “earth rounder” and he and Gordillo crossed paths when both were in Seattle, USA at the same time in 2001. Michel will spend another 3 days there, and then fly to Natal, Brazil, which is the departure point for flying back across the Atlantic Ocean to Africa.
When Michel gets to Natal, Brazil HE WILL HAVE ACHIEVED THE GOAL OF FLYING AROUND THE WORLD ACROSS THE POLES! If you remember, on 2/29/2016 Captain Gordillo was in Natal for the first time on his way to cross the North Pole. Unfortunately the FIA requires the pilot and aircraft to return to Madrid for the FIA World Record to be achieved.
At that point, Michel will have gone around the world almost 1.5 times!
Stay tuned for another post from Michel later today!
