Last January the 14th, a big meeting was held at the Spanish Polar Committee Office. It was leadered by Mr. Catalan, as Polar Committee Technical Secretary, together with the Secretary Mrs. Ramos,  the Manager of the Polar Scientific Area Dr. Quesada, the President of the Spanish Royal Aeroclub Mr. Olías, the Skypolaris Scientific leader Dr. Alados and myself.

It was not easy to find suitable day for everybody, but there was the firm goal to find it.

The meeting was relaxed and friendly. After some two hours, I am glad to inform you that Mr. Catalan has decided to support the project and will submit his decision to the Polar Committee meeting to be held next March, for the final clearance.

Sooo, it is a really good news and looks quite promising. Of course, nothing is done until it is done, but the result of that meeting is the one that we were looking for.

We congratulate ourselves and everybody that made the decision possible, and I can tell you that we are talking about a lot of people.

Also I would like to thanks Mr. Olías for him to come into the meeting, to fulfil his support for our beautiful project.

February 19th is approaching and the Sun is shining over the horizon !

El pasado día 14, en la sede del Comité Polar Español, mantuvimos por fin  la esperada reunión, que fue liderada por su Secretario Técnico el Sr. Catalan, y en la cual estuvieron presentes la Secretaria del Comité Polar, la Srta. Ramos, el Gestor del Area de Investigación Polar, el Dr.Quesada, el Presidente del Real Aeroclub de España, el Sr. Olías, el Investigador Principal del Proyecto Cielo Polar, el Dr. Alados y quien subscribe.

Fue difícil encontrar la fecha adecuada para todos, pero la firme decisión por parte de todos en fijarla, fue la clave.

La reunión fue en ambiente relajado y amistoso, y al cabo de dos horas, el Sr. Catalan la dio por concluida y afirmó que apoyaba la realización del proyecto y el sobrevuelo de la Antártida.

El próximo mes de Marzo, defenderá su apoyo ante el pleno de la Comité Polar Español, para su aprobación final.

Así que estamos realmente satisfechos y aunque sabemos que hasta no tener definitivamente concedido el permiso no lo tenemos, el resultado es el que estábamos deseando.

Damos las gracias a todos los que han hecho posible esta decisión, y os puedo garantizar de que se trata de mucha gente

También agradecer a Jose Luis Olías su apoyo como Presidente del Real Aeroclub y que haya venido a la reunión con el C.P.E. Su participación ha sido muy importante y ha ayudado a aclarar muchos puntos de carácter aeronáutico.

Queda un mes escaso para el 19 de Febrero, y el Sol brilla en el horizonte !
