14:30 Sky Polaris Time

Michel and the Sky Polaris RV-8 departed Boa Vista, Brazil at 13:00 local time and has been flying for almost 4 hours as of this post. His track shows that he flew over the famous Angels Falls in Venezuela at 15:00 local time and is heading for the border between Venezuela and Columbia.  Medellin is about 600 miles (985 km) away and is on time and on track.

Seeing Angels Falls is one of Michel’s many goals for this project.

The mountain ranges between Brazil and Columbia are very high and Michel will have to get his heavy, non-turbocharged aircraft over 13,000 feet (almost 4000 meters). This is not easy or advisable for most aircraft and pilots. Michel has no supplemental oxygen to breath and this altitude causes headaches and nausea. I know that Michel will tell  you about this dangerous part of the flight in the coming days.
