Port Hedland to Ayres Rock
At about 0321 UTC Captain Gordillo once again began another leg in this historic journey by taking off in the Sky Polaris RV-8 and is now heading 912 miles southeast to Ayres Rock, Australia. You have seen Ayres Rock many times – in books, magazines, on TV. It is a very famous landmark in Australia, a monolithic rock rising 1100 feet out of the Central Australian desert.
I am sure that Michel intends on taking a lot of photos to show us this incredible sight in person.
The next departure after one days stay will be to Melura, near the Southeastern Australian coast.
Stay tuned! The entry to Antarctica is scheduled within this coming week (weather permitting).
