Friedrichshafen, Germany to Lyon, France

Due to concerns about weather on the route from Germany to Spain, The Sky Polaris flight has moved ahead of the schedule by flying from Friedrichshafen to Lyon, France. Michel hopes to depart Lyon tomorrow, April 24, and fly closer to Spain. Again, we apologize that the tracking system is not working correctly.

On Monday, Michel is scheduled to arrive back home near Madrid where he will receive a hero’s welcome, and even be greeted by Spain’s Minister of Fomento! This is a very important event and we hope this will bring more attention to the Sky Polaris project and it’s mission to collect environmental data around the world.

Don’t forget that this is only 1/2 of the flight! The next phase will be for Michel to fly the southern route and cross the South Pole. If you recall, there was only one problem with this route, and that is due to an official at the Spanish Antarctic Committee who is delaying giving permission for the aircraft to fly over the Antarctic. As Michel has proven during this phase of the flight, he has the ability to easily cross the Antarctic with no problems or adverse effects to the environment.
