Sky Polaris in Reynosa, MX

Captain Michel has relocated from Mexico City to Reynosa, Mexico, just a few miles from the US/Mexican border. As explained in a previous post, it is thought that a visa is needed to bring the Sky Polaris RV-8 into the USA.  In Reynosa, Michel hopes to legally solve this problem in time to attend the Sun-n-Fun International Fly-in and Expo at Lakeland, Florida. In all the countries over-flown and landed the only documents needed were a flight plan, passport, and overflight approval, but to enter the USA by private aircraft a visa is required. If Michel were to arrive by commercial aircraft or ship, he would not need a visa.

As you can imagine, the complexities of a round-the-world flight are enormous. Every county has their own laws and regulations for over-flight, some of which are extremely expensive. As Michel has said many times, FLYING around the world is the easiest part. Meeting all the requirements to do so is the hard part. It is no wonder that so few pilots attempt this.

It should be noted here that Michel has complied to the letter with every law, paid every fee required (and not required), and has followed all regulations for international travel. The expenses for this flight are very large and growing. Please contribute to this worthwhile mission.
